The McKinsey Case

Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose
The McKinsey Case (the “Contest”) is a competition addressed to current students of Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Universidad Anáhuac, Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad Panamericana, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, Universidad de Monterrey, as well as other universities in Mexico City and Monterrey (the “Universities”) that comply with requirements set forth herein (“Participants”) who are interested in participating in a recruiting process at McKinsey & Company Inc. México, S.C. (“McKinsey”).
2. Participants
Enrolled students in any of the academic programs offered by the Universities that comply with the following requirements can participate in the Contest:
• Students from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores Monterrey (“ITESM”) CSF, CCM, Campus Monterrey and CEM campus
• Students from Anahuac México Campus Norte and Campus Sur
• Students from Universidad Iberoamericana campus Ciudad de México
• Students from Universidad Panamericana campus Mixcoac and campus Santa Fe
• Students from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (“ITAM”)
• Students from Universidad de Monterrey (“UDEM”)
• Students from other universities in Mexico City and Monterrey
• Active undergraduate students at least in their 6th semester and above
• Semester abroad students can apply only if they are in Mexico by the time the interview process for the Mexico City Office (i.e., February 2022 and/or August 2022) takes part.
• Students that have already applied to McKinsey for a business analyst intern role must wait at least one year from the date of the last activity in their recruiting process (this includes completing the PST/SHL or McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game, or participating in case interviews) to form part of this Contest.
• Students that have already applied to McKinsey for a business analyst role must wait at least two years from the date of the last step in their recruiting process (this includes completing the PST/SHL or McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game, or participating in case interviews ) to form part of this Contest.
• Participants are welcomed to form part of this Contest for a maximum of two times throughout their undergraduate career. If a participant does not win the challenge (s)he is welcome to apply to McKinsey through the traditional recruiting process.

Participants will form teams from 2 to 4 Participants (the “Teams”) and register such Teams on a landing page (the “Landing Page”) https://themckinseycase.com/ by providing the personal data set forth in section 5.
3. Methodology

Due to COVID-19 all dates below are for reference only. Participants will receive final dates by email once they have registered.
Participants will register their Teams on the Landing Page from September 15 to October 8, 2021.
Phase 1
• McKinsey will provide access to materials to Participants by October 14, 2021 (the “Materials”) in order for Teams to prepare the deliverables specified in the case material, this will be sent via email to the participants
• Teams will send an initial presentation in .pptx and .pdf format and working calculations in .xlsx format no later than October 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm to the email address themckinseycase@mckinsey.com
• McKinsey will review the presentations and calculations and select the Teams that advance to Phase 2 no later than October 25, 2021 and notify the teams.
• McKinsey will decide the advancing Teams(s) based on an internal and confidential methodology and criteria and the decision is undisputable.
Phase 2
• Teams that advance to Phase 2 will make a presentation before a McKinsey Panel on October 29, 2021 virtually or in Mexico City, depending on the COVID-19 situation at the time as well as on the location of the participants.
• Participants are responsible for any related travel expenses.
• McKinsey will select the Teams that advance to Phase 3 no later than November 3, 2021 and notify the teams.
• McKinsey will decide the advancing teams(s) based on an internal and confidential methodology and criteria and the decision is undisputable.
Phase 3
• Teams that advance to Phase 3 will make a presentation before a McKinsey Partners Panel on November  5, 2021 virtually or in Mexico City, depending on the COVID-19 situation at the time as well as on the location of the participants.
• Participants are responsible for any related travel expenses.
• In case of a tie, McKinsey could appoint 2 winners of the Contest.
• McKinsey will get in touch with the winning team(s) by November 10, 2021.
• McKinsey will decide the winner(s) team(s) based on an internal and confidential methodology and criteria and the decision is undisputable.
4. Award
The winning Team(s) will receive re following awards

1. First place, will receive 1000 USD per team member, a specialized mentorship session, and the opportunity to participate in the first round of interviews at McKinsey in the recruiting process for the Mexico City Office without taking the first admission assessment (McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game) that is required of all applicants to McKinsey positions.

2. Second place (if any), will receive a specialized mentorship session, and the opportunity to participate in the first round of interviews at McKinsey in the recruiting process for the Mexico City Office without taking the first admission assessment (McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game) that is required of all applicants to McKinsey positions.

3. Third place (if any), will receive the opportunity to participate in the first round of interviews at McKinsey in the recruiting process for the Mexico City Office without taking the first admission assessment (McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game) that is required of all applicants to McKinsey positions.
5. Personal Data
When registering a Team, each Participant must provide the following Personal Data: Name, Major, Semester, school and campus, email address and mobile phone number (“Personal Data”).

McKinsey will collect, protect and handle Personal Data from the Participants in the terms of McKinsey Data Privacy Policy available at https://www.mckinsey.com/privacy-policy (the “Data Privacy Policy”).By registering a Team in the Contest, Participants provide express consent to McKinsey to handle their personal data as set forth in the Data Privacy Policy and related documentation.
6. Disqualification
Breach of any of the terms and conditions of the Contest, including but not limited to providing false data or plagiarism, will result in disqualification of the contest itself and could result in a ban for future applications to McKinsey.
7. Confidential Information
Participants agree that all the Materials provided by McKinsey are confidential and the use of those materials is limited to the scope of the Contest. Any other use by the Participant is strictly prohibited.

Participants are not allowed to make any copies of the Materials and will destroy them within 10 days of your Team’s final activities with respect to the Contest.
8. Intellectual Property
All Materials are Intellectual Property of McKinsey and it is use is strictly limited to the scope of this terms and conditions. Any other use by the Participant is strictly prohibited and punished by applicable laws.

By accepting these terms and conditions, Participants agree to grant to McKinsey a free authorization and use license over the presentations and documents submitted and presented to the Panels described herein, including but not limited to presentations and graphic materials.

Notwithstanding, McKinsey will acknowledge the authorship and moral rights of the Participants in terms of articles 18, 19 and 21 of the Mexican Federal Copyright Law.
9. Non-employment offer
Participants acknowledge that participating in the Contest by registering a Team on the Land Page and/or winning the Contest does not constitute an employment offer of any kind. The winning Team is exempted from the first step in McKinsey’s recruiting process (McKinsey & Company - Invitation to Solve, the McKinsey Game). Employment offers will be extended only to those Participants who successfully complete the McKinsey recruiting process.
10. Consent
Participants acknowledge that by registering their Teams on the Landing Page to participate in the Contest, Participants agree to all the terms and conditions set forth above and provide express consent to McKinsey to handle its Personal Data for the purposes of participating in this Contest.
